Maj. and brig. generals in the South Sudanese army were killed by militia gunfire.

A force from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, withdrawing from Sudan, clashed with a force affiliated with the Popular Defense Forces of South Sudan in the Garbanta area of Renk, Upper Nile.
The militia killed a large number of South Sudanese soldiers, including a major and a brigadier generals.
At the same time, the militia captured dozens of South Sudanese government soldiers.
The militia members broadcast a video documenting their abuses against and interrogation of South Sudanese soldiers.
In the same video, the militia members admitted to killing a major general and a brigadier general in the South Sudanese government army.
The South Sudanese government soldiers were seen being interrogated by members of the RSF militia.
It is worth noting that dozens of militia combat vehicles fled into South Sudan after suffering crushing defeats at the hands of the Sudanese army and after the army recaptured and liberated all border areas adjacent to South Sudan.
The entry of the RSF militia into South Sudan, along with the fall of a military garrison and the killing of its commander, will impose a new situation in South Sudan, which is in turmoil due to the crisis between the President of the South, Salva Kiir, and his first deputy, Riek Machar, and the crisis between the White Army and the government army in South Sudan.
