Khartoum State Government’s Employees Given Permission Until June to Return to Work

A meeting of the Khartoum State Government, chaired by its Wali (governor) Ahmed Osman Hamza, discussed measures to complete the state’s structures at the ministries and higher councils levels and to meet their premises’ needs.

The government, in response to reconstruction requirements and the state’s need for workers to maintain operations, decided to end the open-ended leave granted to employees, which began in April 2023.

Employees are required to adjust their status and resume work by mid-June at the latest.

State unit managers are required to take measures to ensure employees resume their work, based on the assessments of each unit and the requirements of the current situation.
