Khartoum Police Revives Command and Control Room to Monitor Roads with Cameras and Drones

The Director General of Police Forces, General Khalid Hassan, on Sunday, inspected the Command and Control Room of Khartoum State Police, accompanied by the state’s police Chief, Lt. General Amir Abdel-Monem Fadl, and senior officers.

General Amir said the room had previously been fitted with cameras and electronic systems covering the entire state before they were ransacked and deliberately destroyed, during the war, by the rebel militia.

He noted that operations have now resumed from Karari Locality and linked to the main center at Al-Mugran.

General Hassan stressed the need to expand coverage across all localities and connect the system with police stations, emergency units, and patrols.

He pledged to provide generators for round-the-clock operation, and to integrate drones into surveillance efforts.

General Hassan further revealed plans to reactivate forensic fingerprinting and biometric identification systems, while highlighting the importance of the 999 hotline in supporting both humanitarian and security operations.
