In a dangerous escalation, the UAE bans flights to and from Sudan

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities have issued a surprise decision banning all flights from the UAE to Sudan and vice versa, as of 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Sudanese airlines were informed of the decision via phone calls received in the early hours of the morning.

According to informed sources, the UAE decision did not provide official reasons for the ban, raising questions about the potential political or security motives behind it.

The decision affects all airlines, including national and international carriers operating on this route.

The decision caused confusion in the operating schedules of Sudanese airlines, as they received the ban instructions via phone calls at 2:00 a.m.

It is worth noting that Sudan declared the UAE an enemy state in early May, following accusations that it was funding and arming the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, accusing the UAE of sending mercenaries from various countries to fight within RSF militia ranks.
