Hemeidti’s Militia Uses Nerve Gas Against the Army in El-Fashir
Field military sources revealed serious developments in the ongoing battles in the city of El-Fashir, confirming that the rebel forces used an internationally banned chemical weapon by firing a nerve-destroying gas at positions of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Joint Force.
According to the sources, army and Joint Force positions on the outskirts of El-Fashir were exposed in recent days to shells containing narcotic and lethal gases believed to be nerve agents prohibited under the Geneva Conventions.
The gases were used at night in areas where the militia suspected the presence of military commanders.
Reports indicated that the gas used caused cases of suffocation and mass fainting among several soldiers, while the injured were transferred to field medical locations under tight security, amid difficulties in obtaining necessary protective and respiratory equipment.
