Heavy clashes erupt between SAF and RSF west of El-Obeid
Al Jazeera sources reported that heavy clashes broke out Wednesday morning between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allied forces, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, in Umm Simaima area west of El-Obeid in North Kordofan State.
The sources indicated that heavy and medium weapons were used in the fighting, and reported hearing explosions in the vicinity of the area where the clashes occurred. Sudanese army soldiers released a video they claimed showed the army in control of Jabal Abu Sunun, west of El Obeid, a day after the RSF announced in a statement that they had seized the site and repelled an army attack on their forces.
