Health Minister: RSF militia stipulates payment of money to pass medicines to citizens
The Federal Minister of Health, Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, said that the cholera epidemic has ended in Sudan, stressing that the situation is reassuring, describing the talk about the high rate of infections as a mere exaggeration of media. He also downplayed dengue fever, saying that it is not fatal, and malaria is more dangerous.
Interviewing by (Sudanese Echoes), the Health Minister revealed that they provide medical and pharmaceutical supplies to the closed areas under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, revealing that the militia does not permit shipments to pass, for citizen’s treatment, unless it is paid money, describing the health conditions in the militia areas as very deteriorating.
The minister said that the health situation in the safe states is proceeding with high efficiency while health institutions are overburdened.
He revealed that they were able to deliver shipments in four states in Darfur through various means, including money and the local community or through specific roads and paths.
