Government: We do not punish citizens based on hearsay… any resident in areas controlled by RSF militia is a citizen with full rights

The Sudanese government said that it does not punish citizens based on hearsay and suspicions or without fair trials.

A satellite channel had published a list of the names of Sudanese citizens described as collaborators with the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

Minister of Information and official spokesman for the Sudanese government, Khalid Al-Aiser, confirmed, in a press release, that the Sudanese state is a pioneer in the field of justice and law, pointing out that all citizens who were forcibly residing in areas controlled by RSF militia are citizens with full rights like others in all parts of Sudan.

Al-Aiser asserted that the Sudanese government’s approach is not to punish citizens based on suspicions, hearsay and fabricated news or without proving involvement and after fair trials.

He said that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have presented martyrs and wounded and liberated cities for the sake of the citizen, his freedom and dignity, thus, cannot deprive any citizen of these legitimate rights.

Minister of Information warned against spreading fabricated news aimed at distorting the image of the Sudanese army and the institutions of justice and law.
