Giant Banners in London Expose UAE’s Role in Sudan War
Oxford Street in London has seen the appearance of giant banners criticizing the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) role in the Sudanese conflict, as part of a campaign launched by the international organization Avaaz, under the hashtag #KeepYourEyeOnSudan. The campaign aims to draw attention to the situation in Sudan and highlight foreign interventions and their impact on the country’s humanitarian and political conditions.
The campaign features banners showing a woman taking a selfie in the UAE with a smile, while the second image of the same woman places her against the harsh reality in Sudan, accompanied by the phrase: “Your selfie won’t look good once you know what they are doing in Sudan,” highlighting the stark contrast between life in a prosperous setting and the painful reality in Sudan.
