French Report: RSF Launches Attacks from Ethiopian Territory
A report broadcast by Radio France Internationale has revealed serious developments regarding the trajectory of military operations in Sudan, stating that recent attacks carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against Sudanese army positions were launched from within Ethiopian territory.
The report indicated that this shift on the ground represents a notable escalation in the conflict, with the RSF exploiting the shared border to conduct surprise offensives and reposition away from the reach of the Sudanese Armed Forces deep inside national territory.
It further noted that the use of Ethiopian territory as a staging ground raises complex questions about the nature of facilitation enabling RSF movements across international borders. Observers warned that exploiting neighboring states’ territory as platforms for hostile operations risks internationalizing the conflict and exacerbating regional tensions.
Such developments, they cautioned, place diplomatic relations between Khartoum and Addis Ababa under mounting pressure amid growing accusations of violations of state sovereignty.
