For the third consecutive day… intense artillery shelling on Dilling

Dilling in South Kordofan State came under heavy artillery shelling on Sunday, carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N) led by Abdelaziz Al-Hilu, amid a state of panic among residents.

A local source told “Ultra Sudan” that Dilling had been subjected to what it described as the most intense shelling since the latest escalation began, targeting the western neighborhoods of the city. The source said four shells landed in western districts, with the extent of civilian casualties and damage still unclear.

The same source added that authorities simultaneously closed markets and banned public gatherings until further notice due to the intensity of the bombardment. It also confirmed that two people were killed and others injured on Saturday as a result of earlier shelling on Dilling.

For its part, military sources told “Ultra Sudan” that the RSF and the SPLM-N have continued shelling the city for the third consecutive day, adding that the army used drones to destroy the artillery piece used in the bombardment.

The source further stated that army intelligence had detected troop build-ups by the RSF and SPLM-N west of Dilling, which were subsequently engaged and dispersed.
