For the Third Consecutive Day… “Hemeidti” Militia Continues Targeting Commercial Convoys in Kordofan
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia continued, for the third consecutive day, to target commercial convoys and public transport vehicles moving along the main highway connecting North and South Kordofan, local sources reported.
Since last week, the militia has escalated drone attacks on supply convoys and humanitarian aid shipments in both states, in addition to shelling health centres and hospitals, resulting in numerous casualties.
The attacks have drawn condemnation from the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, and the Arab League, citing that such assaults obstruct the delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected by the military conflict in Kordofan.
Local sources told Sudan Tribune that RSF drones targeted areas in the city of Al-Rahad in North Kordofan for the third day in a row, causing civilian casualties and destroying public transport trucks.
On Saturday, a drone struck a vehicle carrying displaced civilians from Debeikir in South Kordofan to Al-Rahad, killing 24 civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and injuring many others — marking one of the deadliest incidents in Kordofan in recent weeks.
