Finance Minister: Our economy did not collapse because we followed an austerity policy (without painkillers)
Finance Minister Gebriel Ibrahim pledged to pay full salaries of state employees in the next fiscal year without deduction.
The minister revealed, during the opening session of the economic conference, that the ministry has taken exceptional measures to run the national economy, explaining that the war has returned Sudan to the square of steadfastness in order to survive, a matter that forced the ministry to follow harsh austerity policies without any tranquilizers due to the loss of tax resources in the capital, Khartoum, due to the concentration of the most of the commercial, industrial and service activities there.
Gibril stressed that the Sudan economy did not collapse, for Kindness of Allah Almighty.Meanwhile, the minister revealed the preparation of a strategic economic document for post-war reconstruction, in which renovation projects were identified in all sectors, noting the approval of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to review the document to adopt it as an official text for the state for the post-war period to be presented to donors, international financiers and local and foreign private sector companies to renovate and rebuild what was destroyed by the war.
