Federation of Chambers of Industry: 90% of factories were vandalized in Sudan.. we returned to the 17th century in industry after the war

The Secretary-General of the Federation of Chambers of Industry, Abbas Ali Al-Sayid, affirmed that the industrial zones in Khartoum, Omdurman, Bahri and Al-Gezira were vandalized at rate exceeded 90% during the war. He said that the factories were plundered and destroyed and became empty plots of land. He asserted that Sudan, in the field of the industrial sector, returned to the 17th century.
Scrap
Abbas said in, an interview with the (Sudanese Echoes) platform, that the war cast its negative shadow on the industrial sector from the first shot, adding (Unfortunately, the products of the factories were robbed by some of the workers of the factories themselves, the guards assigned to guard the factories, and some customers from the merchants). He explained that the robbery later included raw materials and equipment and then the destruction of machines and selling them as scrap and smelting copper and transformers and exporting them abroad as scrap.
Entering isolation
Abbas called for starting reconstruction, after the war, with agricultural and animal production to add value to products, stressing the need to enter isolation and rely on available capabilities.
“We need a strong national leadership with charisma, and a strong desire to save Sudan and the Sudanese people from danger.” He said.
Abbas also stressed that the war disclosed the mistake of centralizing industries in Khartoum, stressing that industrial zones must be established in the states of available services and installed near ports and crossings.
Urgent plan
The Secretary-General of the Federation of Chambers of Industry stressed the necessity to form an economic advisory council to help the state manage economic affairs and state administration, announcing their readiness in the Federation of Chambers of Industry to develop an urgent 4-year national plan to get the country out of the crisis tunnel.
