Exhibition of Sudanese children’s drawings inside the British Parliament

A New Bridge Between Parliamentarians and the Sudanese Diaspora in the UK Through the Silent Voice of Children

The exhibition of Sudanese children’s drawings, organised by Waging Peace and with our participation on behalf of Darfur Diaspora Associations in the UK, ran for four consecutive days inside the British Parliament. It highlighted parliamentarians’ willingness to collaborate with the Sudanese diaspora, particularly genocide survivors from Darfur. However, continued dialogue must be maintained, along with the sharing of accurate information, to drive action on the humanitarian crisis and ongoing genocide in Sudan.

Encouragingly, prominent political figures have shown readiness to open channels for dialogue and to hear more about Sudan’s plight. Among them are Nigel Farage, leader of the British Reform Party and a close ally of US President Donald Trump; Jeremy Corbyn, former Labour Party leader and now an independent MP; Adrian Ramsay, leader of the Green Party; Sir Blair McDougall, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Commons; Monica Harding, the Liberal Democrats’ spokesperson for International Development and a member of the International Development Committee; and Ellie Showns , the official spokesperson for the British Green Party.

We hope these efforts mark the beginning of meaningful action to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people. Once again, we express our deep appreciation for Waging Peace’s efforts to stop the war in Sudan.
