Erdogan: Our Initiatives to Stop Bloodshed in Sudan Continue

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that Turkey’s initiatives focusing on peace and dialogue to halt the bloodshed among brothers in Sudan and restore the country’s security and stability continue.

This statement came in a message published by the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency on its X (formerly Twitter) account, on the occasion of World Human Rights Day, observed annually on December 10.

According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan expressed his hope that the day would bring peace, prosperity, and stability to the world at large, foremost to Gaza, the rest of Palestine, and Sudan.

He stressed that the path to a just and lasting peace in Gaza lies in strengthening the ceasefire and implementing the two-state solution.

President Erdogan also congratulated all humanity, especially the Turkish people, on the 77th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations.

He affirmed that this important document, representing humanity’s shared values and achievements, still retains its significance today as a global commitment guaranteeing the inherent rights of every individual. However, he noted that the rules and principles set out in the Declaration continue to be violated in many parts of the world, with concepts such as peace and justice steadily declining.

In his message, Erdogan highlighted that the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza, which resulted in the death of more than 70,000 Palestinians, represents a grave violation of the values enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
