Director of the Radio and Television Corporation: The TV Library and Cameras were not Vandalized or Plundered

Director General of the Radio and Television Corporation Ibrahim Al-Buzai said that they found the television sets and libraries as they were; they were not damaged or looted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia after the area was liberated by the armed forces, except for the destruction of the external television vehicles.

Al-Buzai said, in an interview with (Sudanese Echoes), that they moved the television sets, equipment and cameras to safe areas, and attributed the militia’s failure to destroy the television sets, unlike their usual habit, to their constant preoccupation, until the last moment, with operating the television.

The Television Lobby

Regarding the accusation that the television is run by a “lobby” that is difficult to penetrate due to the failure of the new director of the television, Ammar Shaila, to take up his position despite the issuance of a decision appointing him for more than three months ago, Al-Buzai denied this and said that the situation is currently exceptional in the television due to the war and the poor budget, hinting at the existence of a plan to restore the television figures who stopped working due to the circumstances of the war.

Al-Buzai also acknowledged the weakness of television coverage for the military operations from the field throughout its history due to the lack of capabilities including the means of transportation and others.

Al-Burhan Grant

Al-Buzai revealed that President of the Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, was surprised when he visited the television headquarters in Portsudan when he found the workers sleeping on the ground and still continuing to do their job. So that he directed immediately renting of two apartments, one for males and the other for females. He added that TSC President agreed to support establishment of 5 offices abroad, which he considered as a qualitative development that will bring about a shift in the service, pointing out that General Al-Burhan also supported the TV with a number of vehicles and solved the urgent problems.

Advisory Board

As for the Sudan Radio, Al-Buzai affirmed that the radio achieves a high degree of satisfaction, because it has distinctive programming and professional cadres with high capabilities, and its cost differs from television.

He unveiled the existence of a proposal to issue a decision to establish an advisory board of experts to support the corporation with opinion, expecting it to see the light soon.
