Directive to Rehabilitate Sudan’s Largest Psychiatric Hospital quickly

The Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, has directed the immediate rehabilitation of the Tijani Al-Mahi Hospital for Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases. This is part of the state government’s efforts to repair the damage caused by the war and prepare medical facilities to resume their services.
The Wali visited the hospital on Al-Arda Street on Sunday and observed the extent of the systematic vandalism caused by the rebel militia in various divisions of the hospital. The vandalization affected the infrastructure, medical equipment, and operational systems, forcing the facility to shut down, one of the largest hospitals specializing in the treatment of psychiatric and neurological diseases in Sudan.
Hamza emphasized the importance of returning the hospital to service as soon as possible, given its vital role in providing mental health care to a wide segment of the population. He underscored the importance of expediting the maintenance of vital facilities related to the provision of direct services to citizens.
