Defense Minister: Consultations to establish a Russian military base

Defense Minister Yassin Ibrahim said that the army has come a long way in ending the war against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

The minister added, during a television interview, that the impact of the military operations currently taking place will appear in the near future, pointing out that Sudan will regain its security and stability.

The Minister said that the war in Sudan broke out as a result of external plot, and the militia is playing the role of a player in it, adding, “The ongoing war is an existential war in which we are or are not.”

Meanwhile, the Defense Minister said that consultations are being held within the government regarding the issue of establishing a Russian base on the Red Sea. He added that such a step must be calculated in terms of its cost and Sudan’s interests must be taken into account.
