Coordination between Sudanese Police and IOM to Combat Illegal Migration

Director General of Police Forces, General (Police) Amir Abdel-Moniem met with the Deputy Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Operations, Ugochi Daniels.
The Police Chief praised the organization’s interest and full cooperation in supporting plans and programs aimed at curbing illegal migration, as well as its assistance to voluntary return programs for citizens.
He pointed to the systematic targeting of police infrastructure by the rebel militia, which destroyed technical equipment used for monitoring and coordination with relevant bodies to combat illegal migration. He called on the organization to provide the necessary technical support to sustain the state’s efforts in this regard.
For his part, Deputy Director General and Inspector General of Police Forces said the visit would have a significant impact in addressing many related issues, providing support, and implementing joint projects with the organization through a clear framework in coordination with the concerned police units.
