Cholera death of 699 and other 9 of dengue in Sudan

 

The Sudan’s Ministry of Health announced, Wednesday, that the number of dengue fever cases has risen to about 2024, including 9 deaths, and that cholera deaths have reached 699.

 

The ministry issued a statement stating: “The cholera epidemiological situation report revealed the registration of 82 new cases the day before yesterday, Monday, including one death, bringing the cumulative number of cases in 74 localities from 11 states to 24,604 cases, including 699 deaths.”

 

The statement revealed “the registration of 95 new cases of dengue fever, including four deaths, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 2024 cases, including 9 deaths in 20 localities from 5 states.”

 

The statement indicated that “interventions against cholera led to a reduction in infections in a number of states as well as in the number of patients admitted to isolation centers, particularly in the states of Kassala, Khartoum, River Nile, Northern, and Al-Gadarif , with a rise recorded in other states, including Gezira, Sennar, and White Nile.”
