Because of mercenaries… Colombia apologizes to Sudan

The Colombian government apologized for the participation of Colombian citizens as mercenaries within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. At the same time, Colombian Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo admitted that there were Colombian citizens forced to participate in international conflicts through economic deception, announcing the opening of an investigation to clarify the circumstances in which Colombians were killed in Sudan. Dozens of Colombians were killed by the Sudanese army after participating as mercenaries in the ranks of the RSF militia.

Colombian Ambassador to Cairo Anne Melina de Gaviria, during her meeting with Sudan’s Ambassador to Egypt Imad El-Din Adawi, expressed the shock of her country’s people and government upon receiving the news of Colombian citizens participating in the war in Sudan within the RSF militia.

She described the behavior as irresponsible and conveyed her country’s government’s respect for the people and government of Sudan and non-interference in its internal affairs.
