AU: We are ready to discuss Sudan’s return to resume its activities

Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander Malik Agar, met on Sunday in Djibouti, with the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahmoud Ali Yusuf, and congratulated him on winning the presidency of the Commission.

The meeting discussed developments in the country and ways to activate the mechanisms for Sudan’s return to its seat in the African Union, particularly that the circumstances of the suspension of its membership came at a different stage from the phase that Sudan is currently going through.

For his part, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission expressed the Commission’s full readiness to discuss the issue of Sudan’s return and resumption of its activities with the relevant institutions within the African Union.
