Army Enters Al-Mazroub, Sodari and Al-Jamama

The Dar Hamar Emergency Room announced that the Sudanese Army reached the areas of Al-Mazroub and Sodari in North Kordofan State on Saturday, following extensive ground operations that have been underway since last Thursday. It said the Sudanese Armed Forces and supporting groups had entered Al-Mazroub and Sodari in North Kordofan State.

The Emergency Room provided no further details about the ongoing operations and field developments, as the army launched what was described as its largest ground offensive in recent months in North Kordofan State on Thursday.

Earlier on Saturday, the Sudanese Army took control of the strategic area of Al-Jamama, northeast of Sodari in North Kordofan State, following clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. A military source told Ultra Sudan that the army had established control over Al-Jamama, located northeast of Sodari and south of Ed-Al-Marekh in Al-Kababish pastoral area of North Kordofan.

The source said the army destroyed more than 20 combat vehicles belonging to the militia and killed a number of its members, stressing that military operations along the western Bara axis were continuing and that the announcement of North Kordofan being free of the militia was imminent.

Al-Jamama lies midway along the road linking Al-Dabba in Northern State with North Kordofan and River Nile states, a route considered a major commercial lifeline.

The army took control of 11 towns in North Kordofan over the past two days and also launched an attack on the militia in Abu Qaoud area west of Al-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan, on Friday, September 18.

The ongoing military operations in the country are concentrated in the Kordofan region, particularly North Kordofan, as well as in the Blue Nile Region along the borders with Ethiopia and South Sudan.

The army announced that it had seized weapons and military equipment during operations in North Kordofan over the past two days, amid reports of militia mobilization to prevent the loss of Al-Nohod and Al-Khuwai in West Kordofan State.

The Sudanese Army has conducted large-scale ground operations across the Kordofan region, using drones and fighter aircraft, giving it an advantage over the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) ahead of the ground offensives.
