Army Destroys RSF Drone Control Rooms at Nyala Airport
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) carried out concentrated airstrikes on drone control rooms operated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia within the perimeter of Nyala Airport in South Darfur state, marking a notable field development in the city.
According to field sources cited by Nabd Al-Sudan, the operation resulted in the destruction of the technical infrastructure used by the militia to operate its drones, effectively crippling its ability to conduct aerial flights and reconnaissance in the area.
Eyewitnesses inside Nyala said RSF drones disappeared abruptly from the airspace around the airport following the strikes, indicating the success of the military operation in disabling the drone system the militia had been using to monitor movements and target vital sites.
The development comes amid an ongoing battle to control the airspace in South Darfur, as the Sudanese Armed Forces move to neutralize the RSF’s technical capabilities and prevent the use of drones for offensive or reconnaissance operations.
