Army Breaks Siege of Al-Dalang, Reopens Strategic Supply Route

The Sudanese army has lifted the siege imposed on Al-Dalang, the second-largest city in South Kordofan State, following intense fighting against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its ally, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) led by Abdelaziz Al-Hilu.

From early Monday morning, the Armed Forces and allied joint forces engaged in fierce battles, achieving rapid advances on the South Kordofan front. The siege was lifted after the forces successfully reconnected the city to North Kordofan via the eastern route, following their capture of the strategic town of Habila.

In a statement issued by the Office of the Army Spokesperson, the Armed Forces said that “the Armed Forces and supporting units, with the grace and guidance of Allah, succeeded in forcibly and decisively reopening Al-Dalang road after carrying out a successful military operation that resulted in the defeat and destruction of the Al-Dagalo terrorist militia and its mercenaries, who had been attempting to disrupt civilian movement and supply lines and target security and stability in the area.”
