Army Ambush Crushes Militia Column Attempting to Infiltrate Sodari

Field sources reported clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces ‎‎(SAF), Sudan Shield Forces, the Joint Forces, and supporting forces on ‎one side and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on the other, ‎northwest of Sodri in North Kordofan State, following an attempted ‎RSF infiltration toward the area.‎

A field source said a militia force moved through the desert from the ‎direction of Darfur in an attempt to retake Sodri before being ‎ambushed by the Sudan Shield Forces.‎

The source said the ambush targeted a convoy of combat vehicles, ‎destroying it and resulting in the seizure of a number of weapons and ‎ammunition.‎

The Sudanese Armed Forces announced on September 25 that it had ‎recaptured Sodri from the Rapid Support Forces and deployed troops ‎inside the town as part of ongoing military operations in the area.‎
