Arab League denounces RSF militia violations in Al-Gezira

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Abu-Al-Gheit, has condemned, in the strongest terms, the gross violations of human rights by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Al-Gezira State during the last few days, which included – due to UN reports – mass killings, rape of women and girls, looting of markets and houses, and burning of farms on a large scale.

The Arab League urged, in a statement on its official website, the international community to exert multiple efforts to stop the crimes and hold their perpetrators accountable.

The Official Spokesperson for the League of Arab States, considered the continued committing of these heinous crimes, which some of them amount to ethnic cleansing in Darfur and various areas of Sudan, despite repeated international condemnations, as additional evidence of the urgent need to coordinate efforts and international and regional cooperation to halt the war and hold the perpetrators of crimes accountable, stressing the necessity of not allowing the exploitation of the distraction of international and Arab attention against the backdrop of the crimes of the Israeli occupation in Gaza and Lebanon to seek to devastate the institutions of the Sudanese state and threaten the unity of the country and the integrity of its territories.
