Among them children and pregnant women, 42 civilians killed in an attack by Al-Dagalo family on North Kordofan

The Sudanese Doctors Network revealed on Sunday that 11 civilians, comprising three children, were killed and 31 others were injured in a “Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia attack” on the Shaq al-Num area in North Kordofan State, in the south of the country.

The Independent Medical Network reported, in a statement, that the RSF militia committed a heinous crime in the Shaq al-Num area of North Kordofan State, killing 11 civilians, including three innocent children. It added that the aforementioned attack resulted in “injuring 31 others, among them nine women, some of whom were pregnant.” It described the attack as “the worst brutal assault,” adding that it “violates all humanitarian norms and international conventions.”

The statement expressed the Sudan Doctors Network’s “deep regret” for this attack, which it considered “a continuation of the criminal approach pursued by the Rapid Support Forces militia in targeting defenseless civilians.”

In this context, the statement issued an urgent appeal to the international community, the United Nations, the African Union, and human rights organizations, to “assume their moral and legal responsibilities, take immediate and serious action to stop these systematic violations, and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
