Al-Hadi Idris defends militia attacks on Zamzam, calls for evacuating El-Fashir of its residents

The Head of the Sudan Liberation Movement-Transitional Council, Al-Hadi Idris, justified the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia attacks on El-Fashir and internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps by claiming that the militia has the right to attack the army in any area as long as there is a war between them.
At the same time, he revealed a plan to evacuate more than 100,000 families from El-Fashir and the surrounding camps in the coming days, claiming that completely emptying the city of its residents is the way to preserve their lives.
In an interview with Sudan Tribune, Al-Hadi said, “We have evacuated more than 50,000 families from El-Fashir to Tawila and Korma in the western part of the city so far.” He noted that others were still trapped in Shagra, near Zamzam, describing the evacuation of El-Fashir residents and the camps as the largest evacuation in history from frontline areas. He continued, “We will not encourage people to remain in El-Fashir, because aid will not reach them in the city, as it has become a combat zone. They must leave immediately.” Idris defended the militia attacks on El-Fashir, stating that the militia had the right to attack the army in any area.
