Al-Dagalo’s Prison in Nyala Stormed, a Senior Militia Commander Freed

Unknown gunmen have stormed the Dagris prison in the city of Nyala, South Darfur, and released Major General Essam Fedail, who had been imprisoned on the orders of the militia’s second-in-command, Abdel-Rahim Dagalo, and under the direct supervision of rebel Brigadier General Abasher Jibril Belayel.

Sources confirmed that an exchange of fire occurred during the prison raid, resulting in the deaths of individuals on both sides, in addition to the deaths of some prisoners, some of whom managed to escape, taking advantage of the chaos and turmoil that occurred during the clash.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) umilitia, which controls the area, has yet to provide a full statement.
