Al-Burhan: We will never accept a government, Hamdok or anyone else, be imposed on us

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, violently attacked parties trying to impose a foreign government on the Sudanese people, accusing the African Union and IGAD of seeking to return former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok to power again.

Al-Burhan confirmed that Sudan would not accept that a government, Hamdok or anyone else, be imposed on it.

Al-Burhan said, during his address to the conference on supporting e-learning initiatives, projects and educational technical infrastructure in the Darfur region “I am surprised by some countries calling for Hamdok to rule again.”

He said that no one can impose a government on the Sudanese people from abroad, indicating that Sudan is one of the first countries to gain independence in the African continent and has contributed to the liberation of most of the African countries that are currently conspiring against it and trying to interfere in its internal affairs.

Al-Burhan added, “We are determined and will continue on the path that we have accepted with the Sudanese people,” referring to the people’s rallying around the army in order to defeat the rebellion and any external conspiracy being hatched against it. “The people will triumph in the end, whether anyone likes it or not,” he said, stressing that no external solutions will be imposed on these people.

Al-Burhan sent a message to the African Union and the United Nations stating that the Sudanese people will not accept that a government be imposed on them or that Hamdok or anyone else be imposed on them, adding, “Whoever wants to rule Sudan must first come to the homeland and fight with the Sudanese people to defeat the rebellion. There is no place for foreign agents among us from today onwards.” He added that the African Union and IGAD must spare their efforts considering that the role they are playing will not satisfy the Sudanese people, adding, “How can they bring persons who are rejected by the people of Sudan to appoint them again over them?” He called on the international and regional community to save their energies and efforts because the Sudanese people have spoken clearly and are devoting all their time to defeating the conspiracy targeting their security and stability.

TSC President explained that the Sudanese people are united and cohesive and are fighting together on all fronts in order to preserve the unity of Sudan, its people and its capabilities.

He reiterated the emphasis on moving forward in the battle of dignity until the country is cleansed of the filth of the rebellion, adding, “Our ultimate goal is to have a single national professional army entrusted with carrying arms and defending Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It must be far from politics and unrelated to partisanship.”

Meanwhile, Al-Burhan refuted the talk about the existence of contacts with the Force of Freedom and Change (FFC). “It is pure rumors and lies. Our contacts are only with the fighters in the field.” He continued.

Al-Burhan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all friendly and sisterly countries that stood by Sudan, indicating that what happened in Addis Ababa two days ago demonstrated that several countries that stand by the right refrained from participating in the humanitarian conference that was organized with the aim of whitewashing the face of the aggressors against the Sudanese people.
