Al-Burhan: Laxity Toward Israeli Aggression Could Be Misunderstood

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, called for serious Arab, Islamic, and international action to restore the situation to its proper course, declaring Sudan’s support for Qatar against Israeli aggression.

In his speech at the Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, he condemned the Israeli aggression against Qatar and affirmed Sudan’s full solidarity with Doha—its leadership, government, and people—standing with it against the conspiracy it faced.

Al-Burhan called for an end to double standards resulting from clear flaws in the policies and operational systems of the UN Security Council and international justice bodies.

Al-Burhan praised Doha’s honorable stance in supporting just causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.

He stated, “It is our national and moral duty to stand united with Doha.”

TSC President emphasized that this aggression does not only target Qatar, but sends a worrying message to the entire world. He explained that Israeli aggression undermines sincere efforts to reach a settlement that would end the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and weakens the prospects for a ceasefire.

Al-Burhan noted that Israeli actions represent a continuation of disregard for international law and the entrenchment of a reality based on the use of force and the law of the jungle. He warned that leniency in confronting such acts could be misinterpreted as a signal permitting further transgressions.
