A Valuable Catch” … Killing of Hemeidti Militia’s Desert Operations Commander

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Monday delivered a heavy blow to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia across the Kordofan fronts, eliminating one of the group’s most prominent field commanders and a key loyalist of Janjaweed leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemeidti.”

Military sources confirmed the killing of General Khalla (a rank granted despite the officer not having attended a military academy) Ahmed Al-Haj Dardi, the RSF’s top commander for Desert Operations.

Ahmed led an elite force drawn from the Mahariya clan and was known to be a close relative of Hemeidti (a Mahari Mansouri). He commanded the “Pure Gold” unit — so named because it is composed entirely of Mahariya fighters and members of the Janjaweed leader’s own family.
