A new mechanism for issuing Interpol Red Notices to pursue fugitives from Sudan

 

An important meeting between the Director General of Police, General (Police) Khalid Hassan, and the Attorney General and head of the National Committee for Investigating Violations of National Law, Al-Fatih Mohamed Issa Tayfour, discussed a mechanism for issuing Interpol Red Notices to apprehend and bring fugitives into the country.

 

 

The meeting took place during the Police Director General’s reception of the Attorney General in his office.

 

 

Tayfour praised the efforts made by the police in completing the judicial process and its close coordination with the prosecution and judiciary. He asserted the importance of integrating the roles and efforts of the police and the Public Prosecution to ensure that all reports are brought to court for adjudication, particularly reports of war crimes and violations committed by rebel militias and their collaborators against unarmed civilians.

 

 

The police press office revealed that the meeting addressed finding a mechanism for issuing Interpol red notices to arrest and bring in fugitives. The meeting also touched on the needs of the main Interpol network in Khartoum and the importance of joint coordination between the Public Prosecution and the police in all aspects that contribute to achieving justice.
