A new director for Khartoum Airport appointed… Decision to end employees’ leave

The Sudan Airports Company has ended the open leave of some employees of its Directorates, mainly those working in the Khartoum Airport and Engineering Units.
The employees will resume their work within a maximum period of one month from the issuance of the decision, a step reflecting clear progress in the efforts to restart Khartoum International Airport.
Videos circulated on social media platforms showed live images of intensive cleaning operations currently underway on the runway, offices, and grounds of Khartoum Airport, in preparation for the completion of logistical and technical preparations.
The scenes included the removal of war debris left behind by the clashes, which had caused the airport to shut down for months.
Meanwhile, the company appointed Ayman Afifi as new Director of Khartoum Airport, succeeding the late Engineer Saad Ahmed, who passed away in October 2023 in Cairo.
