A mysterious epidemic ravages donkeys and horses in Darfur

The Dar Sumayat area, east of El-Fashir, North Darfur State, is experiencing a severe thirst crisis that threatens the lives of hundreds of families and livestock.
A number of citizens from the town of Galqi and neighboring villages in the Dar Sumayat area told Darfur 24 that they are facing tragic conditions due to the worsening thirst crisis these days. They called on water organizations to intervene urgently. Citizen Anwar Mohammed Abdullah reported that residents spend more than ten hours a day searching for water. He explained that they often travel these distances on foot due to their lack of alternative means of transportation, including animals.
In the same context, citizen Samia Yagoub from Hillat Abdullah complained about the worsening water shortages, noting that the village recently experienced a mysterious epidemic that caused the deaths of donkeys and horses, forcing residents to travel long distances in search of water. Samia called on water organizations to urgently intervene to save the lives of residents in the Dar Sumayat area from the water crisis.
