Hamdok Alliance Linked to Suspect Deals to Influence US Decision-Making Circles
French intelligence platform Africa Intelligence has revealed official documents that it says show the involvement of the Somoud Alliance and its prominent figures, including Khalid Omar Yousuf, in questionable deals aimed at gaining access to decision-making circles in Washington.
According to documents from the US Department of Justice, the Dabaiwa Media Network, described as being owned by Khalid Omar and journalist Al-Haj Ali Waraq, was registered as a “foreign agent” under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) after signing a $160,000 contract with the US public relations firm Global Point International.
The documents indicate that the move was intended to provide lobbying and media consultancy services and influence the international position in favor of the alliance, at the expense of Sudanese national issues, raising questions about the parties financing these external activities.
