Army Lures Militia into Ambush in Mogja, Blue Nile

The Fourth Infantry Division of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), along with supporting forces, announced that it had carried out a well-planned military ambush in the Mogja area, targeting a force belonging to the militia and its allied forces under the command of rebel Joseph Tuka. The operation inflicted heavy losses on the militia and destroyed a large number of its military vehicles and equipment.

In a press statement on Saturday, the Fourth Infantry Division said that, thanks to field vigilance and close monitoring of the “enemy force’s” movements, the SAF succeeded in luring the militia into the ambush area and delivering a concentrated strike that threw its ranks into disarray and destroyed a number of its combat vehicles and military equipment, weakening its ability to continue operating in the area.

The Fourth Infantry Division said the operation demonstrated the scale of losses suffered by the enemy force in personnel and equipment, while the SAF and supporting forces continued to deal with the situation efficiently and effectively and established field control over the area of operations.

The division affirmed that the operation reflected the high level of readiness of the Fourth Infantry Division and supporting forces, as well as their ability to monitor the movements of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, deal with them decisively, and continue carrying out their field duties along various axes in the Blue Nile Region.
