Rapid Collapse of Militia in Kordofan Amid Sweeping Army Advances

The battlefronts across the Kordofan region are witnessing a rapid collapse and widespread chaos within the ranks of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, amid heavy blows and intensive military operations carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) across various axes in the region.

Field sources told Sudanese Echoes that the successive collapses of the militia coincided with the loss of its main defensive lines and a mass flight of its leaders and members toward the Darfur region, following the deployment of massive military reinforcements by the army to decisively clear the remaining militia pockets and axes in North Kordofan State.

Reports indicated that the destruction of the militia’s military supply lines, along with the advance of the Joint Force and mobilized forces under heavy air cover, had helped paralyze the rebels’ combat movements. Military assessments expect the militia’s armed presence in the region to be brought to an end within a short period, as the pace of surrenders and flight from its ranks continues to increase.
