Head of Sudan’s Intelligence Service Participates in Major African Counterterrorism Summit with 40 Security Agencies

Director General of the General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, is participating in the fifth high-level meeting of heads of African counterterrorism and security agencies (the “Marrakech Platform”), which began on Tuesday in the city of El Jadida and will continue for two days. The event is jointly organized by the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.

Mufaddal leads a high-level Sudanese delegation that includes counterterrorism experts, with the aim of strengthening joint security coordination, exchanging strategic assessments, and sharing perspectives on current challenges and emerging threats affecting regional and global security.

It is expected that Sudan will present its vision on the range of terrorist threats facing the continent, in addition to highlighting its role in this field, based on its geostrategic position.

The meeting witnesses prominent international and regional participation, reflecting growing global security cooperation. Around 40 African security and intelligence agencies are taking part, alongside 90 observer delegations from countries across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and the Americas, underscoring the expanding international interest in supporting stability in Africa.
