Airstrikes Target Nyala Airport and RSF Gatherings

A high-ranking military source in the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) told Al Jazeera that the army carried out a heavy airstrike on Nyala Airport in South Darfur State on Tuesday during the day, targeting groups stationed inside the facility.

In the same context, informed sources told Al Jazeera that gatherings and logistical supplies belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia were also targeted at the same airport on Monday evening.

The intensified and successive airstrikes by military aviation volunteers come as part of the army’s plan to destroy supply routes and disrupt the movement of RSF vehicles in Darfur.

The strikes reportedly caused thick columns of smoke to rise from within the airport following the destruction of RSF military vehicles at the site.
