Al-Burhan Arrives in Türkiye on Unannounced Visit, Holds Summit
In a surprise move, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Tuesday on an official visit that had not been announced in advance.
The Turkish Presidency announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Al-Burhan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, where the two leaders held a closed bilateral summit to discuss developments in Sudan, ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, and a number of issues of mutual concern.
Meanwhile, the Sovereignty Council’s media office stated that the meeting addressed areas of joint cooperation and means of developing them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples, in addition to discussing several regional and international issues of common concern.
Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and expanding prospects for cooperation across various fields in a way that contributes to stability, development, and the advancement of shared interests between Sudan and Türkiye.
