UN Staff Member Detained in Kauda
Northern Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) intelligence detained a United Nations staff member on Wednesday while she was traveling from Kauda to another SPLA-N-controlled area.
Sources in Kauda told Darfur24 that the detainee, Najwa Musa Kunda, who works for the UN in the Atoro area under SPLA-N control, was transferred to the SPLA-N intelligence headquarters in Koya. The sources did not provide a reason for the detention, and the SPLA-N did not comment on the incident.
Earlier, in mid-March, the village of Dabi in the Atoro area witnessed clashes over border demarcation, resulting in dozens of fatalities among villagers and additional injuries.
