Sudanese Army Reveals New Details of Al-Dalang Battle

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced that they had repelled an attack launched by the militia, supported by “mercenaries,” on the city of Al-Dalang, affirming that significant losses in lives and equipment were inflicted on the attacking force.

According to an army statement, the Armed Forces engaged in “fierce” battles over the past 24 hours on Al-Dalang axis, during which they destroyed 36 combat vehicles and seized four others, in addition to inflicting heavy casualties among the attackers.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North launched a large-scale assault on the city on Saturday from three directions. This marks the second such attack on Al-Dalang since the army broke the siege on the city in January and reconnected it with Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan State.

Military sources previously told Ultra Sudan that the assault was preceded by artillery shelling carried out by the militia from the eastern side of the city, resulting in the killing and injury of several civilians, including children.
