24 Sudanese Students Evacuated from Tehran to Port Sudan Airport

 

On Friday evening, 24 Sudanese students evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran arrived safely at Port Sudan International Airport. The operation was a specialized effort overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in coordination with the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA) and several relevant government agencies.

 

 

Ambassador Onur Ahmed, Director of the Consular Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a press briefing that the evacuation was successfully carried out in line with the directives of the Sudanese government, emphasizing that the students arrived safely thanks to full care and precise arrangements made to ensure their return.

 

 

The ambassador praised the pivotal role played by the Sudanese Embassy in Tehran in monitoring the students’ conditions and arranging their safe departure. He also commended the exceptional efforts of the Sudanese Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, which served as a key logistical hub that directly contributed to completing the journey back to Sudan.
