Militia Flees Bara, Clashes Reported in El‑Nuhud Vicinity
Amid reports that the Sudanese army has gained control of Bara, informed military sources said that full control of the city is imminent. The Sudanese Armed Forces carried out a wide-ranging and successful sweeping operation in the strategic surroundings of Bara in North Kordofan, targeting pockets and gatherings of the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The city witnessed a mass exodus of militia elements.
Meanwhile, clashes broke out between the army and the militia in the vicinity of El‑Nuhud, according to Al‑Unwan 24 TV.
Military sources confirmed that the Bara-area sweep resulted in the destruction of numerous forward positions and combat vehicles belonging to the rebels. The operation is part of the army’s field strategy to tighten the noose on the terrorist militia and neutralize its movement at the state’s main entrances, while safeguarding civilians in residential areas. Reports also highlighted a mass flight of RSF elements from Bara following the army’s heavy strikes.
