Joint Meeting of TSC and Cabinet Approves Emergency Budget
The Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and the Council of Ministers held a joint meeting in the capital, Khartoum, chaired by TSC President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. The meeting followed the return of the Sovereignty Council and the Government of Hope to resume their duties in Khartoum.
Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism Khalid Al-Eisir stated that this meeting was the first for both councils in 2026 and represents a practical inauguration of the executive government’s full return to work in the capital.
The minister announced that the joint meeting approved the state’s emergency budget for 2026, highlighting that the nation’s institutional and executive bodies are operating at a high level of efficiency.
He added that the meeting approved several laws, while consideration of other draft laws continues.
Al-Eisir said: “We are pleased, together with all members of the Sovereignty Council under the leadership of Al-Burhan, and the Prime Minister and the Government of Hope, to announce to our people that we are now carrying out our duties from the heart of Khartoum.”
He called on all citizens to return to their homes, affirming the government’s commitment to repay the heroic sacrifices of the Sudanese people over past years to restore Khartoum to its rightful status and normalcy.
