Military Preparations Pave the Way for Declaring Kordofan Free of Rapid Support Forces
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) launched a series of intensive airstrikes targeting military positions of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in North and South Kordofan, marking a notable escalation in the ongoing military operations in the region that have persisted for months.
According to military sources speaking to Ultra Sudan, the air force carried out concentrated strikes on RSF positions west of Bara in North Kordofan, resulting in the destruction of several combat vehicles and the observation of movements described as preparations for an imminent attack on army positions in the area.
The sources indicated that the next phase will witness extensive military operations aimed at declaring Kordofan a zone cleared of RSF militias, amid ongoing reinforcements and the deployment of additional combat units to the frontlines.
In South Kordofan, SAF drones targeted a joint RSF and Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM–N) force in Al-Farshaya area north of Al-Dalang, following intelligence that suggested an intent to attack Al-Dalang city. The strikes destroyed fully armed combat vehicles and killed members of the force, including field commanders.
The sources confirmed that the army has intensified drone sorties in recent days to disperse forces stationed in South Kordofan, which, according to assessments, are planning attacks on Al-Dalang and Kadugli, the state’s largest cities.
