Sudan Completes Rehabilitation of Khartoum International Airport After Years of War
Sudan has completed major rehabilitation works at Khartoum International Airport following years of conflict, the airport rehabilitation committee announced, confirming that the facility has undergone a significant infrastructure overhaul and has effectively become “an entirely new airport,” with arrival and departure halls built to the highest international standards.
In March, the Sudanese army regained control of Khartoum International Airport and other strategic sites in the capital after clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The Director of the Sudan Airports Company, Mubarak Osman, said the airport is now immediately ready to receive returning citizens, noting that the rehabilitation works met all global airport requirements despite the high costs associated with the aviation sector. His remarks were reported by the Sudanese website Al-Mashhad.
